Lil World Pattern

This is something I doodled up this afternoon. Hmm, I could see this pattern appearing on a tile. What do you think?

The Heart Room

The Heart Room — Everyone has a private space to call their own, whether it be an actual room in the home, or simply a beautiful place in their mind. It is a place where you can find inner peace, and are most comfortable.

What is your Heart Room like?

Love & Other Random Thoughts

Okay, I just gotta say writing random thoughts is one thing. But trying to write a large, coherent story, is whole other ball park. I really did want to write a big story, and I had been working on something the past couple of weeks. But in the end it just got a bit much for me. Not to say I don't want to write a book. On the contrary, I still do. I think it is just something that isn't meant to happen just yet.

On the up side, my illustrations are taking a nice turn in development.

Story

What am I doing now? Why am I so quiet again?

I am using my spare time to try and write a story. I am still at the planning stage, building the foundation.

Candy Candy

Who remembers Candy Candy? Just this morning I pulled out an old video that had two episodes of Candy Candy and another show called Little LuLu. I have such fond memories of watching this video tape and I was an especial fan of Candy. I loved the pretty drawing style and the nice stories filled with morals. Plus, gotta admit that Candy had a cute factor about her. She was like a combination of Anne Shirley and Pippi Longstocking.

Candy Candy was originally authored by Kyoko Mizuki and illustrated by Yumiko Igarashi. Later the story of Candy was retold in an animated television series.

4 Lil Achievements

This week I finished making Gwen's lil outfits, one of which Gwen is modeling in the above photos. I am so very proud and pleased that this sewing project turned out well. And I actually finished!?! Well, I did have a very real incentive — I had a kid who was fast running out of clothes (trying to only do the clothes washing once a week). Hopefully these new outfits will also deter Gwen from playing with her nappy.

Five By Five

… to quote Vampire Slayer — Faith.

Today I had a laparoscopy procedure, to check for endometriosis. This is because in recent months I had been having irregular (and I might add — painful) periods. So off to the doctors I went to find out what my body was trying to tell me.

Two good things came out of the laparoscopy. Firstly, I don't have endometriosis (Woo Hoo!). Secondly, the cause of my illness were two adhesions, which the surgeon was able to remove (Double Woo Hoo!).

So now I am back home, with hubby taking care of both the bub and myself. Although I am still a bit out of it, and sore from the operation and stitches, I am definitely relieved to have been fixed up. Once I have healed hubby and I will return to our baby project, of making a sibling for Gwen.

Monday Snapshot

Okay, so yesterday I made some pattern pieces for a long sleeve 1-piece body suit for Gwen. Then today I picked up grey and orange jersey knit fabric from Lincraft* and began cutting the pieces out. Hopefully, tomorrow I can begin the sewing. I was going to start the sewing tonight, but I am feeling sleepy right now.

It'll be a big week for me. On Wednesday I'll be having day surgery — a laparoscopy to be exact, so I imagine I will not feel like doing much else for the rest of the week. So I will try to finish Gwen's lil suits as best I can tomorrow.
* I noticed Lincraft had a lot of pretty satin party fabrics on sale, plus some new hairy fabrics that blew my mind. It was so tempting I wanted to pick up a metre of each, but in the end I showed strength, and only bought what was needed. Maybe next time.

Okay, feeling hungry. Gotta go make dinner and snack on something.
