This Is Me
My husband took this photo of me a couple of weeks ago. I don't usually like how I look in photos, but I don't mind this side profile shot.

Fuchsia Girl
This is my latest illustrative effort, combining hand drawn and Photoshop skills. Proud me! The ensemble was inspired by the Fuchsia flower.
I have entered this piece into a Wacom drawing competition. Judging by the level of skill of other entrants in the competition I know I won't win. But no matter, I had fun preparing this art piece. :)

My Creative Space...
This week I finished a painting which will go on the bedroom wall of a future nephew/niece. Although you can't tell from the photo there is actually glitter within the paint of the night sky.
This week I have been working a little bit on a short story for a local writing competition. On top of that I am reading Knit Knit, a book that I borrowed from the library (for the second time).
It is a time of contemplation for me at the moment — this happens a lot. There are always so many things I want to try, and not enough hours in the day to do it all. Do I focus on drawing? Or on writing? On sewing? Or knitting? Or can I combine all of the above?
Check out what other people are doing in their creative spaces over at Kootoyoo.

My Creative Space...
The past week or so I have been working on this illustration, which I finally finished this afternoon. I was inspired by the song Lil Red Riding Hood by Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs. I have been thinking of doing more with this theme — modernizing the story of Lil Red.
This line art is another piece I have just started. I plan to turn this into a painting for the bedroom of a future niece/nephew. I am still working out the colour scheme, of course.

When Feathers Fly
I love this Mark Ronson song, titled Bang Bang Bang. There is a nerd-groove that reminds me of the late eighties, and early nineties. Such a great way to start your weekend.
