Coraline's Clothes

I was tossing up whether to paint a top onto the Coraline doll or knit one. The knitting idea won out and I began planning and knitting the top.

Oh yeah! And I just had to share a photo of this delicous dinner from last night. It was an Indian dish of butter chicken, with a side of rice, brocoli and cauliflower. We sat outside and ate dinner with a glass of Penfold's wine. I think having dinner outdoors is simply the best way to eat? Do you agree?

Stir Fry Inspiration

Last night I had a bit of spice and flavour in my meal. It was a satay stir-fry with a side of rice and snow peas. If you'd like to give it a try, I have included the recipes below.

Stir Fried Snow Peas

Ingredients
  •       250 g snow peas
  •       1 tbs sesame seed oil
  •       1 tbs finely chopped garlic
  •        ¼ tsp salt

Steps

1. Heat oil in a preheated wok [or fry pan], on medium high.
2. Add garlic and stir fry until scented.
3. Throw in snow peas and salt. Stir-fry for no more than 2 minutes.

Chicken Satay Stir Fry

Ingredients

  •       Peanut oil
  •       4 chopped chillies
  •       6 garlic cloves crushed
  •       1-2 tbs dark roasted curry powder
  •       Light and dark soy sauce
  •       ½ lemon [grate the skin for zest and squeeze the juice]
  •       2 chicken fillets diced
  •       5 large tbs peanut butter
  •       Optional: Add a garnish of chopped coriander and spring onions. Yum!

Steps

    1.    Heat oil in wok 3-5 minutes, on high.
    2.    Stir-fry chilli, garlic and onion. Do this until the onion is golden brown.
    3.    Stir in chicken until sealed.
    4.    Add big splashes of soy sauce.
    5.   Add peanut butter, lemon zest, lemon juice and curry powder. Stir everything together until it is a nice consistency.

Note: Serve with a side of your favourite rice. At the moment I am partial to basmati rice.

It's Back

My camera is back and not a moment too soon. I mean don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed reacquainting myself with the old Ricoh but I did miss how the Canon EOS 1100D felt in my tiny hands.
To celebrate I took photos of tonight's dinner - BBQ pizza. It Last week I wondered what it would be like to cook a pizza on the BBQ, and Michael thought it sounded like a nice idea. We still have a few kinks to iron out with the cooking time and temperature, but I tell you what... Once you have eaten BBQ pizza, there is no going back. It was truly awwwwwesome.

Fried Rice, Anyone?

Tonight's meal plan will consist of fried rice. And the above recipe is what I'll be following, with a modification here and there. I'll use chicken instead of pork.
Hmmm, maybe I could pick up some spring rolls as a side dish. Haven't had that in a long while.
I'll share the meal with you tomorrow. That is to say I'll share a visual snapshot with you.
What are you having for dinner tonight?
