Listen to the Music

Listened to a lot of music this weekend. From The Beatles to The New No 2. Oh yeah!

Thought You Should Know

I'm a dork through and through. More than once I tried being cool, but it froze my heart and it felt like I was wearing my underwear back to front. So I'll just be a dork through and through.

Leggy Lola For Sale

Leggy Lola by Melissa Gaggiano
Buy Leggy Lola
As promised earlier in the week my latest doll creation is now available in my Etsy store.
I am rather excited by the design developments of this doll. She has sewn in shoes and extremely long legs, giving her a cartoony look. Leggy Lola is a very sweet candy girl. I hope you like her as much as I do.

Pink Nation Station

Yoo hoo! I am proud to announce a new photographic piece which can be bought at my Red Bubble shop. It is for the love of pink hair. Check it out here.

Fab Finds 6

It wasn't an intentional thing, but it just occurred to me that today's Fab Finds have a retro vibe. Well, let's roll with it...

We have here something for the lomography enthusiasts. Can you imagine how people were manipulating photos before we had Photoshop. Well, you can check it out here in this 90's video on polaroid manipulation. Fun stuff! I'd like to give this a go if I still had a polaroid camera.

And for a laugh, here's something that Anne Hathaway and Jimmy Fallon did a while back. It is old and still a hoot.

One of my favourite makeup artisans - Doe Deere has collaborated with her friends to make a Jem + the Holograms music video audition. Their makeup and costumes are amazing and outrageous [in a very, very good way]. It makes for a nice 80s cartoon tribute. Fantastic effort ladies [Shana is my favourite in this]!

Lola Complete

I wasn't expecting that, but I got the Lola doll finished late last night. She'll go up for sale later this week at my Etsy store. Stay tuned...

Tastes like Cherry Cola

A couple of months ago I came up with a new doll body template. She got made but then just sat in a bag without hair, face or clothes to compliment her. The poor thing! All she had were a pair of mix match shoes on her feet.
Then one incredibly boring day this week I decided it was time to do something about this unfinished doll. That's when I realised that I had a spare felt wig left over from my mermaid collection - solving the problem of the hair. Next came the face which all got sewn on while watching The Notebook [the first time I've been able to watch this film without blubbering].
And now I am working on the doll's outfit. I found this hairy, swirly, rainbow, yarn, and I have been crocheting the skirt. And to top it all off, my eldest has christened the doll Lola. World meet soon-to-be-dressed-Lola.

The Lost Girls

Just finished this illustration. I was inspired by two things: my daughters and the story of Peter Pan.
